My Work
None of my canvases escape unscathed. Like all of us, they are scarred and nicked and scratched. It is the push and pull, the tactile layering on and taking away that reminds me of possibilities and inherent goodness. Recurring themes of self compassion and worth are woven into the faces and the abstracts and sometimes spill as words onto the canvas. I am always on the floor painting from all directions, trying to ground myself through them.
Biography
Kim Tuttle is a self taught, multi media abstract artist. She splits her time between St. Louis, MO and Naples, FL.
She studied fashion and worked in the garment industry for many years in Dallas and New York. She fell in love with creating her own eclectic style and found a freedom in having the clothes express her viewpoint. Now it is taking root in paint on canvas and can be experienced through the mix of bold color and marks and faces.
